Noise Modeling

Noise is an environmental pollution that affects people’s physical and psychological health and daily life. Environmental noise can be caused by vehicles, industrial plants, machinery and equipment used in workplaces and wind turbines.

Noise modeling expresses to investigate whether the noise and vibrations at the noise level from one or several sources in the environment are in compliance with the current legislation and whether the limit values are exceeded if they will affect the exposed persons in the affected area and to inform about the current and future status of the facility. MACOM Environment & Energy has experienced personnel in optimizing raw data, creating noise modeling, performing impact assessment studies, calculating vibration assessments according to required standards, ensuring noise control and taking necessary measures.

One of the most important parameters for noise modeling is the correct matching of the topography data with the project area and definition. The matching of the topography is very important for accurate results. MACOM uses CadnaA® 3D noise modeling software for your noise modeling projects by creating the latest satellite data and high definition topographies. Topographic distribution maps, model maps, 3D model noise maps and predicted noise levels are presented in the Acoustic Report to be created by MACOM.

Another parameter is the type of noise source. This type of source should be well defined and a model should be created according to the type of source.

LEGAL FRAMEWORK

MACOM aims to work impartially and reliably in noise modeling projects as well as in all modeling studies. For this purpose, noise maps generated as a result of the operation of the model are evaluated in accordance with the applicable legislation, guidelines and vibration standards according to national and international projects and an Acoustic Report is prepared. The national and international regulations applied for the assessment of environmental noise and vibration are as follows;

• IFC General Environment, Health and Safety Guidelines,
• Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment,
• ISO 9613-1:1993, ISO 9613-2 for calculations,
• Turkish Standards for Measurements ISO-1996-2 and TS9315 ISO 1996-1.
